YUP! WE ARE PROUDLY CANADIAN

 

Since COVID, Torontonians have been feeling the crunch—rising interest rates, grocery bills, and inflated prices across the board, let alone any entertainment. At the same time, companies are tossing out perfectly good items, often brand new just because they’re out of season, have a dent, a damaged box, were refunded or aren’t "shelf ready."

​

Financial: The costs keep going up, while the volume of the product decreases. Food banks are overwhelmed because people are just getting by. How are we suppose to expect them to purchase a new chair or mop? 

​

Equality: This is something that we're not sure has every truly been a reality in this world. Between politic problems, wars, capitalism and so on, equality is missing in the world. 

​​

Social: Imagine you're in Wal-fart, (For legal purposes & giggles) the cashier is ringing up your groceries, diapers, cleaning supplies, stationary for the kids, and mop.  The closer she gets to ringing in the mop, the higher your anxiety rises because you're going to have to the cashier you can't buy it. On the flip side, the cashier has anxiety because she hasn't been able to pay her full power bill for the last 2 months..

Environmental: More and more companies are throwing away unwanted merchandise, filling our landfills with usable product​​​​

THE ISSUES WE'VE IDENTITIFIED...

At TRE FAB THRIFT,

we're flipping the script by cutting down Toronto’s eco-footprint. We are

re-distributing material wealth

right back into our community—straight to our neighbours.

 

We collect, accept, procure, and purchase items headed for the landfill, even though they still work perfectly.

  1. Re-distributing material wealth directly into our community—straight back to our neighbours

2. Reducing what our neighbours have to spend to afford goods

3. Helping to reduce Toronto's eco footprint.​​

4. Bringing our neighbourino's together like a small town community, through our pop-up sales and other community initiatives

SOLUTIONS WE ARE FOCUSED ON...

1.  Financial - Allowing everyone to be able to afford items they need, want or maybe were even saving for.

​​

2. Equality - Reminding people that they are worth more than the value of their paycheck. Returning self respect.

​​

3. Environmental - Keeping trash off our neighbourhood streets by collecting and disposing of what we can properly. By repairing everything we can and adding it to our thrift shop.

​​​

​4. Social - Restoring the self-confidence to the lower class of our neighbourhood. Connecting the members of our community in hopes of having a community that protects its' own.

HOW WE'RE
COMBATTING THINGS SO FAR...

​We collect, accept, procure, and purchase items headed for the landfill, (even though they still work perfectly). We then inspect, clean, repair, etc. and prepare all items to be listed for sale.

 

​We are helping to reduce the financial burden our neighbours have for day-to-day items by securing and re-selling the goods, then we pass the savings on.

 

Between our box blow-out sales, you can expect to pay a fraction of the retail price at a big box store, and well, the 'Name Your Price' / 'Pay What You Can' program speaks for itself.  ​

We are located at the heart of the Caledonia & Castlefield Interior Design District.

Northside of Bertram St. Toronto, ON, Canada
 
Operating Hours are Fluid and based on the weather & ability to secure a pop-up location. 

Ideally, we pop-up every weekend but you can place an order online whenever you like. We operate Monday-Friday for this.
